A person once told me, people often express their true feelings in two scenarios: when they are in love and when they get drunk. As a Floortime therapist, I see that people (both adults and children) also express themselves most when they play.
Plato, a well-known Greek philosopher has said: “You can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation.”
When I first visited Las Vegas and entered some largest casinos, I was bewildered when seeing some players wearing sunglasses. Not until much later I learned that they did so to prevent others from reading their facial’s expression! Isn’t it amazing?
Now let’s come back to the power of play. During play, children engage and interact with the world around them. Therefore, how adults engage with young children during play is crucial. In fact, it is a true art!
